Kim: I've been actively researching my family since May 2010. I had only dabbled before Mother's Day 2010, but since that time, I've spent hundreds if not a thousand hours pouring through records (mostly online) and hints about my kin. I've amassed over a 1000 names in my entire tree including all collateral lines (those connected by marriage but not actually direct ancestors of mine), with over a thousand sources. Throughout the arching branches, I have found interesting ancestors and distant relations. I can catch glimpses of their lives through the records they left behind.
